The construction of the new Faculty of Psychology, executed by the joint venture formed by LASOR and FERROVIAL, is the first project in the city of Malaga to be managed using BIM methodology and is one of the greatest success stories of BIM implementation in FERROVIAL's work, thanks to the management and support of the Apogea team.

A very complex project, and subject to important changes during its execution, it has proved a success. Apogea was responsible for the BIM management and support in the modelling, coordination of disciplines, change management and support to the work team for the measurement, certification and purchase management using BIM methodology, as well as the development of the BIM as-built model.

One of the most important challenges of the project was to introduce the working methodology to all those involved in the project, i.e. owners, construction team and project management, since this was the first BIM project in which they were involved. To this end, processes based on protocols were established and the models were always linked to a database, which in turn was linked to the Excel spreadsheets traditionally used by the construction team. This ensured that the information was consistent and reliable at all times and meant that the whole team could adapt quickly and smoothly. It was technology in service to the team, and not the other way around, that was the guarantee of success.
